| How
Does a Nutritional Therapist Work? Nutritional therapists work holistically, taking into account the
physical, emotional, neurological and environmental aspects of a clients lifestyle,
recognising that each person is unique, with individual dietary and nutritional
requirements.
Nutritional therapists assess clients
nutritional status and functional capacity by analysing questionnaires, diet diary and
medical history but may also utilise biochemical and other types of clinical testing to
provide concise information about body systems function.
Depending on a number of factors, from inherited
strengths and weaknesses to previous health problems and current disorders the nutritional
therapist can then work with their client on many levels, tackling various health
objectives by empowering individuals to maximize their own health potential, and assist
the body towards balanced function.
In addition to dietary, supplementary and
nutritional advice, recommendations may also include guidance on natural detoxification,
how to support digestion, absorption and elimination and advice on the avoidance of
allergens and toxins.
Nutritional supplements may also be recommended
as part of your programme where necessary and are checked against any medication that you
are taking and would be charged in addition to the consultation fee as would any testing. |
